About Lisa
Lisa lives, teaches and writes in New England and has two grown children.
She has developed a method of teaching meditation to children from eighteen
months to three years old. She has been teaching this method since the
mid-'90s. She has taught and volunteered with children from preschool
to eighth grade since 1977 at schools in Maine, Georgia, California and
Vermont. From 1999 to 2002 she developed and taught a program for kindergarten
through sixth grades on spirituality and meditation at All Souls Interfaith
Gathering, a spiritual center in Vermont. Lisa has also
given workshops on teaching and parenting to the spirit of a child.
With a grant from the Brimmer Fund of Boston, Lisa traveled to Nepal
and Tibet, where she studied meditation with Tibetan Monks and Hindu
and Tibetan Buddhist scholars and guides. Lisa has met with and taught
her mediation to doctors and nurses in the pediatric intensive care unit
at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts-New England Medical Center
in Boston, Massachusetts.
Lisa is currently focusing on workshops aimed
at teaching parents, educators and healthcare professionals her method
of teaching meditation to children.
